Corn: Frank Cahill 2005
Réalt na Mara, Sandymount 4-02
Scoil Naomh Olaf, Balally 3-01(After extra time)
Extra-time was needed, before Réalt na Mara, Sandymount finally defeated Scoil Olaf 4-2 to 3-1 in a thrilling Corn Frank Cahill final.
Olaf's included in their team Harrison Brewer, whose father Mike is a former New Zealand rugby international, and they have also enjoyed training sessions this season with Dublin captain David Curtin
However, despite a fantastic team effort which included great performances from Captain Eoin Murphy, David Byrne and Daniel Coen, Olaf's just fell short against a multi-talented Réalt na Mara side that showed tremendous character to come from 3-0 to 1-0 down to capture the title.
Jordan Barnes, Michael Kilroy, Jamie Toner, and Matthew Groves were all outstanding for the Sandymount school, while super-sub Emmett Lyons came off the bench to get the crucial goal that sent the game into extra-time.
Just 90 seconds into that extra-time period Jamie Toner then got the goal that put Réalt na Mara in front, before Jordan Barnes added an insurance point in the second period of extra-time.Olaf's will take heart from such a spirited performance given that 22 of their panel will be under age again next year.
