A reminder of our driving and parking system:

Please follow the suggested one-way system outlined on the map and park only on the school side of the road:

1.    Please do not drive down Ballally Drive. If you drive in from the Sandyford Road at Balally Hill please drive down Balally Park and then up Balally Drive.

2.    Drive slowly in the vicinity of the school.

3.    Do not block the driveways of local residents.

4.    Do not double park as it is extremely  dangerous and can cause accidents.

5.    Do not park in such a way as to block the flow of traffic - this could also result in the obstruction of an emergency vehicle.

6.    Do not drive into the school grounds.  The only parents permitted to drive into the yard are those taking children to matches and those with disabled access permits

7.    Please drive with care along Balally Grove and Park as many children walk home this way and play on these roads.

If everyone followed the one way system as outlined, it would reduce the numbers of cars meeting and trying to squeeze past each other.  It would also prevent the traffic jam caused by one car driving down Balally Drive when everyone else is trying to drive up the road.  There have been numerous delays caused especially when the bin trucks are trying to get round the estate.

Parking outside the school

We ask again that you take care when parking around the school.

As you know there are limited parking places outside the school and as most children finish at 2.30 it gets very busy at this time as well as at drop off time at 8.50 am.

Please do not double park or park behind any cars which are already parked at the parking bay as this prevents people leaving and increases traffic chaos.

Some people even park on the pedestrian crossing which forces children to cross the road from between parked cars, increasing the risk of not being seen by approaching traffic.

Most significant is the danger of injury to our kids from cars performing manoeuvres while the kids run around them to get to their double-parked / illegaly parked parents’ cars. Other motorists have been seen reversing into the school grounds in order to turn their vehicle, while other children are walking in the school gates. A lot of our pupils are small so many drivers can be blind to their presence. The Health & Safety issues are very obvious!

For the sake of walking a few extra yards we ask that you please park further up the road rather than double-parking or parking on double yellow lines or on the pedestrian crossing. We have asked our community gardai for assistance in monitoring this issue and remind everyone that our primary aim is the health & safety of our pupils.

It is our duty not to put our kids, or our fellow parents and guardians, into situations where they may get injured or cause injury - or worse. This is a serious safety issue. Thank you for your co-operation in this regard.
